NMS Poem For Class

You thought you knew me,
But there’s more than appears.
I may still be young,
But I’m wise beyond my years.
When the rain fell down,
It masked my tears.
I use to let it fall over me,
Letting the pain disappear.

You had used me,
And abused me,
You tried to tear me down.
You hurt me,
And cursed me,
You use to make me frown.
You never actually cared,
You never really knew,
Who I was deep inside.
I could never make you happy,
I could never be good enough,
It didn’t matter how hard I tried.

I didn’t let you stop me,
I grew to be strong.
You always said I couldn’t,
I will forever prove you wrong.
I’m friendly, smart and caring,
A heart beats in my chest.
I am everything you’re not,
More than the person I detest.
